Noah's Ark, the biblical story of a massive vessel built to save Noah, his family, animals, and humanity from a catastrophic flood, must have been an unbelievable experience for Noah.  The preparation, trust, sense of stewardship, and long-term vision required of him was astounding.  These things, along with many others, offer a metaphorically similar experience to clients who board our Ark.

• FAITH:  When Noah was building the ark, it had never rained.  Yet, God instructed him to build a boat on dry land.  Noah was displaying his faith in God by obeying.  While clients putting faith in Ark Advisors is different than trusting in God, the point made is that individuals and families venture into the unknown when planning for things such as retirement or estate issues.  At Ark Advisors, we work with our clients to navigate the unknown by focusing on long standing relationships and wise stewardship principles, serving as a trusted resource for objective advice and high-quality financial products.

• PREPARATION:  In the biblical account, Noah spent years (decades) preparing for the flood by constructing the ark according to God's instructions in Genesis 6.  Similarly, individuals and families should prepare for the future by creating well-structured comprehensive financial plans.  Ark helps its clients define financial and non-financial goals, along with action plans necessary to achieve them.

• RISK MANAGEMENT:  Many risks were present in Noah's story.  The elimination of humanity, Noah's family, and all the animals just to name a few!  Individuals and families working with Ark Advisors also must identify, plan for, and mitigate risks in their financial lives.  

• LONG-TERM VISION:  When God instructed Noah to build the ark, it was with a long-term plan in mind.  Likewise, individuals and families should categorize financial goals into short-term and long-term timeframes.  Plans and investment portfolios should be adjusted accordingly.

• FLEXIBILITY:  Imagine being on the ark when the floodwaters receded.  Noah and his family were forced to adapt to a changed world.  While individuals and families will most likely not meet the same circumstances as Noah, the principle remains that our plans and investment portfolios should be able to adapt to changing financial conditions.  These conditions may be market volatility, economic shifts, or personal life changes.

• STEWARDSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY:  Noah was considered a steward of the ark, responsible for the care and well-being of all on board.  Ark Advisors acts as a fiduciary for its clients, meaning we are required to act in our client's best interest.  Many of our clients also consider themselves stewards, responsible for the care and well-being of assets entrusted to them.

• TRUST AND EXPERTISE:  Noah's family and the animals trusted him to navigate the flood from the time the rains started until the waters and waves receded.  Similarly, clients of Ark Advisors entrust their financial well-being to their advisors, expecting them to have the expertise and knowledge to guide them well.
